Ok so I normally blog about Polly and myself but this blog post is dedicated to my other half Andrew as I wouldn’t be here today blogging away about our daughter without him so be prepared this might be a bit of a soppy post.
So this weekend just gone was our 10 year anniversary of Andrew and myself being together. I cant quite believe its been a whole decade and that I was only 17 when we first met down our local pub where he used to dj. We have been through so much over the years but its definitely brought us out stronger than ever. They say what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger and it most surely does.
Some of my fav pictures of us from the last couple years. Love that the bottom left and right I’m pregnant with Polly and the middle one she was under 2 weeks old.
Anyway, we had heard good things about “The Pigs” in Edgefield near to Holt and after 2 lots of our friends had stayed there and said how lovely it was we thought we would go treat ourselves.
They have just opened up some new style rooms to stay in which look slightly bigger than our Spa Room we had, but as we booked our stay so early this year to make sure we would get in we only had the choice of the original ones which are definitely still lush.
We had a huge bed, a very big bathroom with shower etc. Huge television on the wall with tea coffee facilities underneath on the desk. You then have almost a mini conservatory style room attached to your room that has a huge bath and sauna in which is just private to you. You then walk through into your own personal garden where you find a little fire pit area perfect for toasting marshmallows on.
We also booked a session in their Spa Garden which houses a huge Jacuzzi hot tub which was amazing and because you book your time slot its all yours for 45 mins. Bliss.
It was soooo relaxing and just lovely and peaceful and quality us time.
We then had a bit of time after to enjoy the lovely sunshine before getting ready for dinner.
As for dinner, it was bloody lovely! I had Ham Hock which was delicious and just fell off the bone. It was huge! Andrew had Steak, his favourite. Then for desert Andrew had Bake-well and I had Cheesecake. I have never been sooooo full in all my life but was so scrummy. We would definitely go back for the food alone.
We then went back to our room to toast marshmallows on the fire and chill.
Mmm mmmm yummyness right there 🙂
Then it was movie time and a cheeky glass of wine spritzer for me. My very first drink in well over two years.
We both slept very well, the beds were so comfy although I did wake now and then thinking I could hear Polly etc as it was the first ever night we had left her. We then went down to breakfast which again we so delish and it would have been rude to not have a proper fry up.
So all in all our anniversary away was amazing. We will definitely be returning to The Pigs again in the future and next time with Polly as it was so lovely to see it be such a child friendly place and we both defiantly missed her. They were even so welcoming to people who had dogs too.
Well hope you enjoyed all the picture spam, we could not recommend it enough. Until next time piggies…..
Much Love
Sophie
