Our first Christmas as a Family

Well that’s Christmas all over for another year (insert sad face emoji) I am such a big kid at Christmas and I think that’s because my parents made it so magical for me. I remember helping my Mum put out the mince pie, carrot and glass of milk and writing my wish list to Santa and my Dad setting light to it outside as he said that was the quickiest way it would get to the North Pole etc (the things kids believe) Such lovely memories I’ll treasure forever.

I know Polly has just turned 5 months old but I wanted to start as I mean to go on. I ordered her a Christmas Eve box, filled it with a few things for her age including new pj’s and some Christmas books. I also took her to see Santa the week before Christmas at our local Garden centre and he was one of the best I have ever seen. We also took her to the most lit up house in our town which they decorate every year for charity. She really loved it as she is fascinated with lights. And finally we just enjoyed our first Christmas as a Family.

We went to my Parents and my Mum cooked a delish lamb roast. We have normally entertained at ours so was lovely not having to try to be the hostess with the mostess. We were good this year an didn’t go mad on gifts for Polly as knew others would spoil her. Her main gift from us she received was her Jumperoo back in November as it was on offer in Argos. Andrew said we better put it together make sure it’s all there etc then he said we should just try her in it see what she thinks. Her little face lit up an she absolutely loved bouncing in it so there it has stayed in our lounge ever since.

So there you have it our first Christmas as a Family was just perfect and although I’m sad it’s all over for another 12 months I know this Christmas she will definitely be more into everything rather than playing and trying to eat the wrapping paper.

Much love

Sophie
